Awakening the Heart - Moving Beyond Medicators

Awakening the Heart - Moving Beyond Medicators

A 2.5-Day Experiential Retreat

Many of us learned to cope with life by numbing, distracting, or avoiding what we feel.

We reach for work, food, substances, scrolling, control, approval, or endless busyness.

These are called medicators.

They helped us survive difficult moments in life.

But eventually the same strategies that once protected us begin to disconnect us from ourselves.

Awakening the Heart: Moving Beyond Medicators is a powerful 2.5-day experiential retreat designed to help you gently explore the ways you numb, avoid, or manage emotional pain, and discover healthier, more authentic ways to live.

Through guided experiences, group process, and embodied practices, you will begin to:

• Recognize the coping patterns shaping your life
• Understand the neuroscience behind numbing and avoidance
• Reconnect with your body and emotional wisdom
• Cultivate compassion for the parts of you that learned to survive
• Discover new ways to regulate and respond to life

This retreat is not about fixing yourself.

It is about awakening awareness and reconnecting with the heart.

What You Will Experience

This retreat blends experiential learning, reflection, and embodied practices to help you reconnect with yourself in meaningful ways.

During the weekend you will experience:

Guided Experiential Exercises
Powerful group activities designed to help you recognize the medicators you rely on and understand the deeper needs beneath them.

Nervous System Education
Learn the neuroscience behind numbing, coping behaviors, and emotional regulation so you can understand your patterns without shame.

Somatic Awareness Practices
Gentle body-based practices that help you reconnect with sensation, presence, and inner awareness.

Group Process & Authentic Conversation
Meaningful dialogue and shared experiences that remind us we are not alone in the struggles we carry.

Reflection & Integration
Time for journaling, contemplation, and integration so insights can become lasting change.

Connection with Self and Others
A supportive environment where honesty, vulnerability, and compassion are welcomed.

Throughout the weekend you will be invited to move from numbing → awareness → connection → choice.
